A Victorian woman who shared her unusual McDonald’s “craving” has inadvertently sparked a mad rush around the world.
CNN reports that the popular fast food chain is implementing upgrades to some of its most popular items. “We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavourful than ever.”, Chad Schafer, senior director of culinary innovation of McDonald’s USA, via statement.
Kelly Arvan, from Point Cook in Victoria, has clocked up more than four million views after ordering two hash browns and an Oreo McFlurry to create a sandwich.
The mum-of-one filmed herself tucking into the salty and sweet creation, describing it as “irresistible”.
The “hack” quickly went viral, with people around the world rushing to their local McDonald’s restaurant to try the unorthodox food combination.

Social media users in the US, UK and Australia have all been sharing videos of themselves taste testing Mrs Arvan’s creation – even radio host Kyle Sandilands has got in on the action.
“I love a hash brown and I love a McFlurry, so how bad can it be?” he asks, holding the wacky sandwich in his hands.
The KIIS 106.5 presenter then takes a bite out of the sanga, declaring “that’s good” before making an X-rated joke about the melting ice cream dripping on the floor.
The internet has gone feral for a McDonald’s “hash brown McFlurry sandwich” after a woman in Victoria shared her “unusual” Macca’s craving on TikTok.
A foodie from San Francisco also jumped on the bandwagon, declaring she’d “never wanted to try anything more” in her life.
“Holy, f**k! How comes no one ever thought of this before?” the blogger, @foodiesushiqueen, asked.
While another TikTok user, @tasmindhaliwal from Canada, said she was “shocked at how good it is”.
“This is so crazy,” she said in a video. “But it’s actually fire.”

Mrs Arvan explained the idea for the culinary “masterpiece” came to her late at night and she had to wait until the following day to get her hands on it.
“I dreamt about this,” she said in the clip.
“I guess that’s what fast-food giants do, they have these irresistible items that we crave to put together.
“This is just an ice cream sandwich but hash brown style.”

Many were quick to suggest Mrs Arvan’s left-of-field Macca’s hack could be a sign she was pregnant, something she later shut down in the comments section stating: “It’s just my tastebuds.”
While defo not expecting a second bub with her husband Habib, who she shares videos with under the handle the @arvanfamily, she’s undoubtedly a trendsetter.
But if you want to try the treat for yourself, be warned, it gets a little messy.
