DRINKING more water is a common New Year’s resolution, with many of us wanting to go on a health kick in January.
Whilst staying hydrated is never a bad thing, you might want to pick out your own bottle – especially after seeing what one woman received from her husband.
Unless you’ve been avoiding social media, you’ll probably have seen the Stanley Cups as you’ve scrolled throughout the year.
The iconic water bottled has gone viral multiple times on Tiktok, thanks to its sleek design, colour combos and bendy straw.
Whilst it might be all over the internet, one woman got quite the shock when she asked for a ‘big’ Stanley as a Christmas present.
Rather than receiving the large 1.2L version of the iconic tumbler, influencer Savannah got a ‘grandad’ thermos that looked like it belonged in WWII.
Instead of bright colours and a base which neatly fits in a cup holder, the heavy flask came in a dark forest green hue.
It’s hard to fault her husband’s logic though as the flask is clearly durable, came with a metal cup for serving hot drinks on the go and has the original Stanley branding.
Though it might not be the most aesthetically pleasing water bottle, it seems the content creator saw the funny side.
Having filmed her reaction, which was reflected on top of the bottle, she cheekily wrote in the caption: “I am so honoured to be projected on the Burj Khalifa.”
After being compared to the world’s tallest building, the heavy duty thermos has gone viral with nearly 4 million people seeing it on Tiktok.
Unsurprisingly, many users had a hilarious reaction to the confusing Christmas item.
One even joked that she got the ‘grandaddy’ water bottle, writing: “You got Grandpa Stanley… he’s a good man Savannah.”
“That’s Mr Stanley to you,” teased another.
Others were more curious about why the content creator was so disappointed with her present.
A third argued: “No but these are the OG Stanley’s ! I’d be so happy lol. My dad had one growing up.”
It seems that her husband’s mix up might pay off in the long term, with a viewer pointing out how durable the heavy thermos was.
“That’s the original Stanley, the one that existed prior to the new trend,” they explained, writing: “These were classic conduction workers lunchbox/thermoses!”
Savannah might also not be so upset by her gift after hearing about what might be hiding in the newer Stanley cups.
Whilst the reusable bottles are made from food safe stainless steel, one woman was horrified to discover that mould was lurking underneath the lid.
This wasn’t a design flaw though, with Chanelica only discovering that she could remove the straw element of her Stanley months after purchasing.
Taking to social media, the woman warned others about the hidden dangers after seeing another creator’s video on Tiktok.
“She took the top off of her Stanley and I was very surprised by how much mold was underneath hers,” she revealed, adding: “I just knew that I needed to get mine clean.”
Thankfully, Savanah shouldn’t have the same issue with her more vintage design.
