Christmas is over and done with for another year and January 31 is fast approaching, so many may already be mapping out and planning their 2024.
But if you’re wondering how to really make the most of the coming year, then this woman might have the answer for you.
She has gone viral online after explaining how to get into a ‘millionaire mindset’ in the New Year, and she claims this method will help you ‘stay focused’ and complete your goals.
Content strategist Breana, known on social media as @iambreham, recently shared a video revealing what she had learned after spending time with a group of millionaires.
She said: ‘I have infiltrated the rich, broke the code and figured out their secrets and let me put you on.
‘You need to look at the new year with a completely different mindset. Let me explain what I mean…
‘The other day I went to a holiday party and there were a lot of millionaires in the room. I’ve never met that many millionaires in my life, and the one thing I took away from our conversation was that you do not get rich or become successful by accident.
‘These people were literally talking to me about quarter two and the whole time, while I’m planning for February and thinking I’m doing a good job. No, they’re in Q2 you guys, they’re already three months ahead of us.’
Breana goes on to explain that instead of thinking of the year as 365 days for achieving New Year’s resolutions and goals, you need to think in terms of quarters, like businesses do.
She claims you start by writing down the different lifestyle categories you want to improve on, such as your personal relationships, finances, or your mental/physical health. Then for each of these you add a goal and why you want to achieve this.
‘A lot of successful people look at quarters of the year as an entire year, so you don’t get 365 days to complete something, you only get 90 days.
‘Thinking this way prevents you from resting on your laurels because 90 days is a quarter of the time you would think you’d have, so you’d be more likely to stay focused on your goal day-to-day.’
Breana then advises making a chart, breaking the year up into four quarters and dividing up your goals between each quarter.
‘You break the year down into four quarters and you reverse engineer the main task into each quarter of the year,’ Breana says.
‘Here’s an example, my goal is to get 150k followers. How am I going to do that? By posting more. How much can I post? At least every other day. Every other day is 182 days. If somebody told me to post for 180 days I would get overwhelmed, but breaking it down by quarter, I only need to post 15 days a month and 15 days a month is super easy to digest.
‘So you’re going to do that for all of your big topics, you’re going to work your way back so for the next 90 days you only have to focus on six small tasks, but at the end of the actual year, you’ll have completed so much more.’
She adds: ‘This is where you lock it in, this is for the people who are literally going to change their lives next year. You need to provide yourself with some type of visual gratification. Doing a task without any gratification reduces your change of doing the task.
‘Create a bingo card for every single month, figure out how many times you can get bingo and every single time you add something, you’re going to get that boost of serotonin. That my friend is how you’re going to be successful in 2024.’
The video has proved a hit with social media users, garnering one million likes and thousands of comments, with many praising Breana for sharing the advice.
Aprelle Smith replied: ‘I LOVE this idea 90 days is a “year”.’
While @twinmom1014 said: ‘That 90-day rule is a game-changer!’
And Mya Destiny added: ‘This is so smart.’
Many people also pointed out that there’s a book that details a very similar method known as the 12 Week Year. The book, written by Brian P. Morgan, is intended to help people achieve more in 12 weeks than most manage to do in 12 months.
Others joked that they simply couldn’t be that organised, as @kristiankitten95 proclaimed: ‘I’m trying to live 24 hours at a time lol.’
Either way, Catherine Drysdale, a sex and relationship coach, claimed there was one thing everyone should take away from Breana’s video when planning their New Year’s resolutions and goals.
She said: ‘Not knowing the WHY behind each goal is why so many people fail at New Year’s resolutions.
‘It helps your subconscious get on board so it’s easier to stay committed to your goals. If your subconscious doesn’t believe the why, it doesn’t happen.’
So there you have it folks. Fingers crossed we’re all on our way to becoming millionaires in 2024… or at the very least we’ll all be thinking like them.
