A new challenge has taken social media by storm, and it sees women asking their partners an incredibly simple question, with downright hilarious — and sometimes disastrous — results.
The ‘test’, as some have branded it, involves asking a man to ‘name a woman’ and that’s quite literally it.
It’s unclear where the challenge first originated, but in a viral video shared by @AustinShow, one of the hosts shares his theory that he thinks 90% of men that are asked this question will respond with Hillary Clinton.
He is quickly proved right as his friend does immediately answer this way. However, a number of different names have been given by other men on TikTok.
Many have also opted for public or political figures, with Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Helen Keller, and Queen Elizabeth being named in numerous videos.
However, it seems a number of women are now using the challenge as a way to loyalty test their partners, as they are hoping their name will be the first that comes to mind.
And when they don’t respond accordingly, things get pretty uncomfortable.
In a clip by a TikTok user known as @montanaandryan, wife Montana poses the question to her husband, saying: ‘Ryan, give me one woman’s name.’
Much to her dismay, he replies with ‘Ashley’.
‘I was confident about this one,’ she proclaims, before asking him who Ashley is and demanding why he didn’t say his woman’s name.
Ryan is quick to point out that she didn’t ask him to name an American state, but that does little to placate her as she continues to question who Ashley is. But eventually she can’t help but laugh as he explains: ‘I don’t think of Montana as a woman’s name, it’s unique.’
In another video posted by @inesbuenom, Inés claims her boyfriend’s answer is a ‘red flag’ as he names his mother. ‘He’s a mommy’s boy’, she explains.
While TikToker @taniatotanesmartinez is actively encouraging women to ‘start a fight’ with their man over this challenge. In her viral clip, she urges people: ‘Today ask your man to name a woman, if that guy says any other name than yours, you should start a fight.’
However, not everyone was upset by their partner responding with a different name, as some found the answers to be highly amusing.
For instance @sophiacuerquis, who goes by Pia, can be seen asking her boyfriend to name a woman and she’s left in stitches when he instantly says ‘Professor McGonagall’.
In the comments, people were quick to praise her man, with one writing: ‘Ten points to Gryffindor.’ Another said: ‘HE IS SAFE.’
Other names that passed the ‘vibe check’ included Beyoncé, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, and Rosa Parks.
