Two waitresses have revealed what really happens behind the scenes in a restaurant, saying how staff secretly judge diners on certain things.
In a TikTok, Kelly (@kelly.ella86) and her colleague also reveal what they discuss about guests behind closed doors in the restaurant.
The workers also share some of the customer habits they hate the most.
Kelly says: ‘We’re waitresses, we’re going to get upset when you order a Coke and a water and only drink the Coke.’
Her colleague added: ‘We’re waitresses, we’re going to laugh at your jokes because you pay our bills.’
They also shed light on some other trade secrets, adding: ‘We’re going to tell you your food’s almost ready when we’ve most likely just rang it in. We don’t have the authority to turn down the thermostat just because you’re cold.
‘We are going to get yelled at when you ask for special prep. We’re going to talk about you in the kitchen when you order a hot tea.’
Some of their other pet peeves include people coming in 10 minutes before the restaurant closes, and having to bring out the team to sing ‘happy birthday’ to a customer.
But perhaps one of the most bizarre things is their thoughts on seating arrangements.
They add in the clip: ‘We’re going to judge you when you and your boyfriend sit on the same side of the booth.’
And it seems the waitresses aren’t alone in this bugbear.
In the comments, which have since been hidden, one person – according to The Mirror – agreed with this sentiment, adding: ‘I hate it when it encroaches on neighbouring guests and when they are getting all PDA.’
