The TikToker, named @2Quacks&5ClucksFarm, revealed the key is to use potting soil – like this £6 bag from Tesco.
The Miracle Gro Premium Peat Free Compost features a special formula that will make sure your plants are fed for 3 months.
In a video, Scott explained that you only need one or two items on top of the soil.
He captioned the clip: “Are you on a budget and want to grow your own food? This simple and cheap gardening hack will allow you to grow a lot of food.”

The garden guru explained how to drain water through the bag.
Scott, from the US, said: “Take a bag of potting soil, screwdriver, scissors, whatever you have on hand.
“You want to poke 12 to 20 holes in the bottom of your bag and you want to go and cut the top off.”
He urged his followers to keep a 2-inch border when cutting the top, so it can work as a barrier.
“I’m going to sew some slow-bolt lettuce seeds and some red Russian kale,” he continued.
Scott spread the seeds around the soil and then lightly watered them.
“You can grow all sorts of lettuce, herbs, spinach,” the TikToker added.
“This is how you can garden on a budget.”
He also encouraged his followers to try growing; turnips, broccoli, cabbage and dwarf tomato plants.
2 Quacks & 5 Clucks Farm boasts a whopping 282.4K followers on TikTok and has 1.61k subscribers on YouTube.
Scott has previously shown enthusiasts how to grow food indoors all year round and how to make your own fertilizer.
Fans praised him for his incredible vegetable hack.
